Angel holds a strong academic identity as an expert in health psychology and behaviour change, with research expertise in the design, delivery, evaluation and adoption of psychological theories, models and techniques to change behaviour. Her research applies behavioural science to understand and intervene with factors that influence behaviours that impact on health, illness and how we interact with the health care system. It spans multiple populations (children, adults, health professionals), behaviours (physical activity, eating behaviour, medication use, health care consultations), experiences (death, food insecurity), and health outcomes (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, depression), with the connecting thread being the application of behavioural science to optimise physical and psychological health.
