Dr Amy O’Donnell is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health based in the Population Health Sciences Institute at Newcastle University.
Amy holds a NIHR Advanced Fellowship (‘ADEPT’) which explores the potential for using digital technology to improve support for people with co-occurring heavy drinking and depression. Her wider research programme includes the NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research Programme funded evaluation of Alcohol Care Teams (ProACTIVE -2) and she is National Co-lead for the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Mental Health Implementation Network Project 3 (Integrated care protocols for co-occurring mental and physical health problems and substance use issues). Amy’s methodological expertise includes: systematic reviewing; qualitative methods; evaluation of complex interventions; and the design, conduct and analysis of mixed methods research.
