About this research

The overall programme of research comprises four work packages (WP). WP1 is a review of published studies that have trialled SMAs in practice to examine the effectiveness SMA compared to usual care. WP2 is a review of literature that reports patient and healthcare practitioners’ views and experiences of SMAs for long-term conditions in general practice. WP3 involves interviews with patient and healthcare practitioners in the NENC to explore their views and experiences of SMAs for long term conditions in general practice. Interviews will also be held with a sample of practices to examine resource requirements for SMAs delivered in primary care in the NENC.
