As part of our ongoing engagement with policy makers, our team members attended Parliament for Researchers training.
The event was one of a regular series provided by the Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST).
The Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology is Parliament’s in-house source of independent, balanced and accessible analysis of public-policy issues related to science and technology.
The event brought together colleagues from universities across the northern region, including the Older People and Frailty Policy Research Unit.
The sessions included advice on providing evidence to Select Committees, engaging with Members of Parliament and the House of Lords.
Each of the interactive sessions provided an opportunity for multidisciplinary sharing of ideas and the co-creation of a set of tips for those wishing to provide evidence to parliament.
A final exercise enabled the participants to ‘pitch’ their research to colleagues in the room and receive feedback to shape future interactions with policy makers.
